STUDY SITE MAPPER / USING THE APP

Terms of Use

What the app provides

Study Site Mapper helps you select a location or boundary, view third-party basemaps and thematic data, make a composed map plate, and review available statistics. Output depends on the source data, network availability, device performance, selected settings, and the geographic area.

Research and design judgment

Map layers and computed figures can contain gaps, classification errors, uncertainty, or differences in time and resolution. They are aids for exploration and presentation, not a legal boundary survey, engineering certification, cadastral record, safety assessment, or substitute for field verification. Check the original source, projection, date, resolution, and licensing before using an output in formal decisions or publications.

Your inputs and exports

You are responsible for having the right to import, use, and share KML files and other content you provide. Your locally saved projects and exported map files remain under your control on your device. You are responsible for backing up work important to you and for checking an export before distributing it.

Third-party maps and attribution

Basemaps and thematic layers are provided by their respective sources, which may have separate terms, licenses, attribution requirements, availability limits, or usage restrictions. Keep the source credits on exported maps and follow the relevant provider terms when publishing or redistributing an output. Study Site Mapper does not claim ownership of third-party data.

Availability and changes

We may modify features and this website as the app develops. Online map and data services may be interrupted or changed by their providers. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided without a guarantee that every source or calculated result will always be available or error-free.
